Snow Falling, Authorities Urge Caution

It’s a wintry day in Toccoa.

Snow has continued for much of the afternoon.

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley says that roads were getting slick at 3 p.m. with a couple of accidents already taking place.

He says secondary roads are especially tricky and urges people to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary this evening.

As for what is in store later, National Weather Service Meteorlogist Doug Outlaw says though that snow will taper off tonight and overnight and by tomorrow, skies will be clear.

Outlaw goes on to say that much warmer weather is on the way for the weekend.
