Shoulder Reportedly Sidelines Martin

NJ.com is reporting the Philadelphia Phillies are shutting down Toccoa native and pitcher Ethan Martin for the time being after an MRI revealed right shoulder inflammation this week.

The report indicates Martin will be rested for about two to three weeks and then be re-evaluated.

Martin has yet to be officially assigned a team within the Phillies’ farm system after being sent down to the minor league camp towards the end of spring training.

He is a 2008 graduate of Stephens County High School and was a first round pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers before being traded to the Phillies.
