Sheriff’s Office Investigating Armed Robbery
The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery on Highway 123.
According to a report on file, The Sheriff’s Office responded to Highway 123 near Tony’s Gas Station. The victim says that she was parked on the side of the roadway Monday morning, about a mile from Riverdale Road, suffering from a coughing fit when a vehicle pulled in behind her and a Black male pointed a gun in her face and demanded her purse. The report indicates that over $300 was taken.
Meanwhile, the Sheriff’s Office also responded Monday to Currahee Circle to a felony theft by taking. According to the report, the victim says that someone came into her carport area and stole her ATV vehicle.
The Sheriff’s office also responded to a burglary on Carnes Creek Road. Sometime between 8 P.M. on August 17 and 4:42 P.M. August 18 some person or persons broke in through the back door of a residence and stole a CD/DVD car stereo and a custom built speaker box with two ten inch sub speakers, an open face reel, and a Browning rod and reel. The report states that $580 worth of items was taken.
In Police news, according to a report with the Toccoa Police Department a burglary was reported on Monday of a building on Craig Street. The owner reports that a miter saw, Skil saw, two circular saws, and two electric drills were taken.
All of the incidents remain under investigation.
