Negotiations continue between the Toccoa-Stephens County Humane Shelter and its choice for the job as shelter director.
Tuesday, the shelter board met and approved modifications to its offer to Jeff Roberts of Norfolk, Virginia.
The board had offered Roberts the position at its meeting last week and entered into negotiations with him over terms of employment.
Shelter Board Chair Harold Andrews said these changes are just part of the negotiation process.
“He came back with negotiated conditions that were not in our offering, so our purpose this morning was to discuss those conditions and come back with our side of the offering,” said Andrews.
The modifications approved Tuesday by the shelter board dealt with a number of areas, including vacation and sick time, along with relocation assistance.
Roberts was most recently the Chief Executive Officer of the Norfolk SPCA.
Roberts’ resume references a total of 14 years working with animal welfare organizations.
Besides his time at the Norfolk SPCA from 2009 to 2012, his resume states that he has worked for various other animal shelter organizations, primarily in the Atlanta area.
He would replace Bob Citrullo, who resigned in March.
