Services Friday For Man Killed in Tuesday Crash

Funeral services are set for the man killed in a three-vehicle accident this week in Stephens County.

21-year-old Reed Edward Haga of Carnesville will be laid to rest on Friday.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Liberty Baptist Church.

Interment will follow at the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.

Haga was killed in a three-vehicle accident Tuesday morning on Georgia Highway 106 in Stephens County, near Law House Road.

The Toccoa post of the Georgia State Patrol said a 1999 Toyota Tacoma driven by Haga was traveling north on Highway 106 and crossed the centerline into the southbound lane.

According to the GSP, Haga’s vehicle then struck a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 32-year-old Candice Sanders Huot of Toccoa head-on, as Huot drove southbound on Highway 106.

GSP troopers said a third vehicle, a 2012 Chevrolet pick-up driven by 59-year-old Bruce Warren Gay of Carnesville, was traveling behind Huot’s vehicle and was unable to stop for the sudden collision in front of him and his vehicle struck Huot’s vehicle.

Haga was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the GSP said Huot and a small child in her vehicle were both airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital, while the third driver was treated at the scene and not transported.
