Sequoia Trail Residents Want County To Take Road Over

Some residents in the Lake Harbor Shores community are asking Stephens County Commissioners to take over a road in order to help them get city water.

The residents have requested that the county commission take over Sequoia Trail.

Stephens County Commissioners considered the request at their meeting on July 26.

After hearing the request, Stephens County Commissioner Debbie Whitlock said that the best thing to do may be to discuss it with city commissioners before committing to anything.

“I think that sounds like the best idea,” said Whitlock. “That way, we will know better what we are looking at. I do not think we can answer until we know what they are willing to do.”

County commissioners asked Stephens County Administrator Phyllis Ayers to work on setting up a joint meeting.
