Seneca Police Arrest Toccoa Man on Drug Charge

A 23-year old Toccoa man has been arrested in a drug sweep being conducted by the police in Seneca, South Carolina.

Law enforcement authorities there have confirmed the arrest of Joshua LaDale Oglesby of 23 Riley Street on the charge of manufacture, possession with intent to distribute the controlled substance flunitrazepam.

That is a controlled tablet substance which induces sleep and is prescribed by licensed professionals as a short-term solution to insomnia.

Oglesby was arrested Tuesday morning and lodged in the Oconee County Detention Center.

He and 33 other suspects are targets of what the Seneca Police Department calls “Zero Tolerance” enforcement efforts.

The sweep was officially announced Wednesday.

Seneca Police Chief John Covington says that the department will continue actively seeking the remainder os suspects involved in the operation throughout the day, night and days to come until they have them all in custody.
