Second Cruz Thomas Memorial Ride Planned

By WLHR Radio, Lavonia

Plans are coming together for the Second Annual Cruz Thomas Memorial Ride in remembrance of the late Cruz Thomas, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy and son of Franklin County Sheriff Stevie Thomas killed in a crash on Interstate 85 back in May 2014.

Bettie Grizzell is organizing this event and she says all of the funds collected will be split between two charities.

According to Grizzell, the money will be split between the Cruz Thomas Scholarship Fund and the Shriners Hospital in Atlanta.

Grizzell also says there will be other activities as part of the ride.

The memorial ride will be September 19th at the Flats in Canon with registration at 11am and the ride starting at noon.

Everyone is invited but each driver will be asked to pay twenty dollars and ten dollars for each passenger.

That fee also includes a meal.
