Authorities in Stephens County say they have arrested one person after serving a search warrant that was connected to a manhunt in Hart County that resulted in two arrests.
Hart County authorities arrested 29-year old Brandon Wayne Arnold and 25-year old Heather Elaine Frankum of Seneca, South Carolina after a daylong manhunt Tuesday.
According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, his office, the Mountain Judicial Circuit N.C.I.S. Drug Team, and numerous other agencies served a search warrant Tuesday morning in the Martin area where it was thought Arnold and Frankum might be.
“We received some information from a source that there was an individual who was doing some gun running as we call it and the guns were at a certain address down on Brookhaven Circle,” said Shirley about obtaining the search warrant. “Once they identified the suspect, we received a call from the U.S. Marshal’s Office and the ATF that they also had information about certain individuals that were perhaps here in Stephens County and wanted for gun running and they had warrants on them.”
Shirley said that one person, 40-year-old Keith Brantley Black of Martin, was arrested at the Brookhaven Circle location on warrants out of Elbert County.
The sheriff explained that Arnold and Frankum had already fled to Hart County at the time the search warrant was served. They were both arrested in Hart County, where Arnold faces charges from the ATF related to the alleged illegal sale and trafficking of firearms and Frankum faces a charge of obstruction of law enforcement at this time.
As for Black, Shirley said further charges are pending against him as the investigation continues.
