The Stephens County Middle School football team wraps up the 2012 season with a win.
The Rebels defeated South Habersham 36-28 last week.
Stephens County Middle School Head Coach Matt Miller says the win over South Habersham was a big one for his team.
Miller said the team got a special visit prior to the game from a well-known former Atlanta Falcon.
“Former Atlanta Falcon Jessie Tuggle gave a pre-game speech,” said Miller. “One of our parents is former NFL player Gary Walker and they are friends and Gary brought Jessie over to talk to us. He had a good message and the kids responded to it.”
Miller went on to say that the Rebels had a very good season overall.
“I am very proud of our kids,” said Miller. “We had a very good eighth grade bunch this year mixed in with a good group of 7th graders. I am very proud of everybody, from our coaching staff on down to the kids. I am very pleased.”
The Rebels finished the season with a record of 5-1.
