SCMS Football Falls on Homecoming

The Stephens County Middle School Rebel football team lost to Franklin County Saturday night at the Reservation, 28 to 14.

Titlan Wells scored 3 of the 4 touchdowns for the Cubs, including a 73-yard run to put Franklin on the scoreboard first with 1:18 left in the first quarter.

Mal Mal Wells scored on a 40-yard run with 5:31 left in the second quarter; and after the two-point conversion run by Titlan Wells, the Cubs led 16 to 0.

Stephens County would get on the board on its first possession of the second half on a 3-yard touchdown run by M J Jones.

The Rebels cut the lead to 16 to 8 with the 2 point conversion run.

However, Franklin would respond with the second and third touchdowns by Titlan Wells of 60 and 49 yards.

Stephens County would score the final points with 7:55 to go in the game on a 5-yard touchdown run by Mucha Wiley.

During halftime ceremonies, Madison Henson daughter of David Henson and Vicki Pekarik was crowned homecoming queen.

Stephens County will be back in action Saturday night at the Reservation as they host Clarke County with kickoff at 6 pm.
