SCMS Basketball Wraps Up Season

The Stephens County Middle School basketball teams wrap up their seasons.

All four teams participated last week in conference tournament play.

The 7th grade boys made it all the way to the Championship game before falling to Elbert County this past Saturday 48-31. Nick Martin had 11 points and Isaiah Martin had 8 points.

First, the 7th grade boys defeated Hart 40-36 last Tuesday. Nigel Green scored 14 points and Nick Martin had 13.

Then, the 7th grade boys beat Franklin in the semi-finals, 34-31, to get to the finals against Elbert. Nick Martin had 7 points.

Meanwhile, the 8th grade boys first defeated Franklin County last Tuesday, 39-26. Ty Nails had 13 points and Donnie Curry had 9 points.

The 8th grade boys were then eliminated by Hart, 66-32. Ty Nails had 11 points and Donnie Curry had 8 points.

Moving to girls’ play, the 7th grade girls finished in third place, losing to Franklin 41-35 on Friday. Anna Ashe 11 points and Mary Alice Knight had 9 points.

Finally, the 8th grade girls lost to Hart in the opening round, 34-23. Treasure Lone had 9 points and Aliyah Martin had 8 points for Stephens County.
