SCMS Basketball Update

The Stephens County Middle School 8th grade boys’ basketball team will play tonight for a conference championship.

The 8th grade Rebel boys beat Madison County 36-26 on Saturday in the conference semi-finals to advance to the title game.

DeUndra Singleton had 11 points and Montavius Thornton added eight points for the Rebels.

The 8th grade boys will now play Hart County tonight at around 5:45 p.m. at Franklin County Middle School for the championship.

Meanwhile, the 7th grade Rebel boys ended their season with a close 50-49 loss to Franklin County in the first round of the conference tournament.

Ben Hobbs had 17 points to lead the 7th grade boys and Malik Combs added 13 points.

Moving to 7th grade girls’ action, the Lady Rebels lost to Elbert County Saturday in their tournament semi-finals.

Treasure Lone had 7 points and Kaylee Sellers added six points for the 7th grade girls.

We do not have results on 8th grade girls’ basketball at this time.
