SCMS Basketball Update

The Stephens County Middle School basketball teams will return to action Friday against Franklin County.

Last weekend, Stephens County Middle School’s teams took on Madison County Friday and Elbert County on Saturday.

In 7th grade girls’ action, the Lady Rebels were defeated by Madison County Friday 43-27.  Kiki Bowman and Ashton Ayers had 6 points each.

On Saturday, the 7th grade Lady Rebels traveled to Elbert County where they lost by 2 at the buzzer to the Lady Rams.  Ashton Ayers led the Lady Rebels in scoring with 8 points, while Treasure Lone added 5.

Meanwhile, the 8th grade Lady Rebels lost 37-17 to Madison on Friday and 28-24 to Elbert on Saturday.

Moving to boys’ action, the 7th grade Rebels lost 41-37 to Madison on Friday.  Ty Nails had 32 of the team’s 37 points.

Then on Saturday, the 7th grade Rebels were defeated by Elbert by the score of 38-28.  Ty Nails led the Rebels with 9 points and Dawson Sorrells had 6.

Finally, the 8th grade Rebel boys defeated Madison County Friday 47-40.  DeUndra Singleton had 14 points and Montavius Thornton added 13 points.

On Saturday, the 8th grade Rebel boys beat Elbert 40-30.  DeUndra Singleton had 21 points and Montavius Thornton had 9 points.
