SCMS Basketball Update

The Stephens County 8th grade girls claim a region regular season championship.

On Wednesday, the 8th grade Lady Rebels beat Madison County, 55-44, to take the top spot for the region during the regular season.

Against Madison, Breanna Taylor scored 22 points and Savannah Broska and Ranajah Verdell each scored 11 points.

Moving to Thursday, the 8th grade girls took their first loss of the season, losing to Franklin County, 51-49 in overtime.

Taylor scored 24 points against Franklin and Tynajiah Eades added nine points.

As for the 7th grade girls, Stephens County beat Madison County on Wednesday, 25-17. Kayla Smith scored nine points against Madison and Ikira Patterson scored five points.

On Thursday, the 7th grade Lady Rebels beat Franklin County, 25-15. Manisha Colbert scored 12 points and Smith added 10 points.

In boys’ action, the Stephens County 7th grade boys lost to Madison County on Wednesday night, 46-20. Zatorian Lacy had 18 points and Kumali Perry had two points for Stephens County.

On Thursday, the Stephens County 7th grade boys lost to Franklin, 56-26.  Lacy had 17 points and Isaiah Harris had four points.
