SCMS 7th Grade Boys Basketball Wins Two Over Weekend

The Stephens County Middle School 7th grade boys’ basketball team picked up two important conference wins this past weekend.

On Friday, the Rebels were victorious at Madison County by a score of 42-24. The 7th grade boys were led by Brandon Wheeler with 6 points and Paul Bellamy, Hassan Brown, and De Undra Singleton with 5 points each. Eleven of the 13 Rebels in uniform recorded points in this game.

Then on Saturday, the 7th grade boys defeated Elbert County 47-23 at the Currahee Arena. AJ Curry and Montavis Thornton led the Rebels with 11 points each, while Kole Rogers added 9 and Tyriq Kabir added 5.

The 7th grade boys are now 7-3 overall and 4-2 in the conference and play next at Hart today and at Franklin on Friday. These two games close out the regular season with the NEGIAA tournament hosted by Hart this year beginning on January 25.
