The Stephens County High School basketball teams wrap up the pre-Christmas portion of their schedule.
Saturday, the Indians and Lady Indians were swept at home by Elbert County in non-region action.
In the girls’ game, the Lady Indians went 12-28 at the free throw line, including missing eight free throws in the fourth quarter, on their way to a close 49-46 loss to the Lady Blue Devils.
Emily Mote led the Lady Indians with 10 points and Audresha Merritt had nine points.
In the boys’ game, Stephens County trailed undefeated Elbert County by just two at the half, but Elbert pulled away in the second half for an 81-56 victory.
Josh Slate led the Indians with 13 points, while Tavoris Davis, Jamal Winters, and Tay Jones each added 11 points for Stephens County.
Heading into the Christmas holiday, the Lady Indians are 5-5 on the year, while the Indian boys are 2-8.
Both teams are off until December 27 when they take part in a holiday tournament in Hartwell.
