The Stephens County Indian baseball is off to a winning start in 2013, defeating Hart County 9-2 Wednesday evening in Hartwell.
Stephens County broke open a close game, batting around in the top of the sixth inning, scoring six runs.
The Indians rode a strong pitching performance from Austin Lord, striking out seven and walking two.
Offensively, Davis McCall had two hits, three walks, and three RBIs and Logan Bell picked up an RBI single and two walks.
The Indians play Hart County again Friday at the Reservation in the home opener.
Air time on AM 630 WNEG is set for 6:15 p.m. with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the JV baseball team defeated Jefferson 15-4 in five innings.
