SCHS Team Takes Third in SkillsUSA National Event

A team from Stephens County High School wins third place in a national competition.

The SCHS SkillsUSA Opening and Closing Ceremonies team won third place in the national high school competition held last month.

According to the SkillsUSA website, the SCHS team consisted of Sarah Hale, Bryson Addison, Gabrielle Beck, Tessa Jordan, Taylor Crump, Kaitlyn Phillips, and Cynthia Mayfield.

North Georgia Technical College also had two national competition place winners at that competition.

Jacob Hester won third place in First Aid-CPR and Georgia Zumwalt won first place in Photography.

SkillsUSA held its national competition in Kansas City in late June.

It is a national career and technical student organization with chapters at high schools and colleges across the country.
