The Stephens County Indians and Lady Indians pulled off a double-header sweep Friday night at the Currahee Arena.
The Lady Indians scored 41 points in the second half to coast to a 63-25 win over the Lady Warriors of Walnut Grove.
Mya Cleveland hit 3 three-point shots to lead the scoring with 9 points. Keocia Walker, Lexie Cash, and Charity Major each had 8 points.
The win gave the Lady Indians a 3-0 record in Region 8-AAAA. Stephens County’s girls are 6-13 overall.
Destiny Clyde and Taylor Tallent each had six points to lead Walnut Grove. The Lady Warriors are 5-15 on the season and 0-3 in region play.
Meanwhile, the Stephens County boys got their first region win Friday night with a 55-47 win over the Walnut Grove boys.
Stephens County trailed 18-12 after the first period, but outscored the Warriors in every period after that. Tay Walker had 12 points, while Cody Helgeland and Kamichi Fleming each scored 10 points.
The Indian boys are now 12-7 overall and 1-2 in region play while Walnut Grove is now 7-12 overall and 0-3 in the region.
