SCHS Sweeps Region Envirothon Competition

Stephens County High School’s Envirothon teams both move on to their state level competition.

Recently, the teams from Stephens County swept the Georgia East Region Envirothon competition at White Hall Forest in Athens.

The Stephens County High School Red Team of Amber Mills, Brittany Grier, Connor Roberts, Taylor Pruitt and Chris Mace swept all five categories and had the highest score of the day.

Meanwhile, the Black Team of Christian Roberts, Luke Nicholson, Amanda Zheng, Aidan Hartwell and Macy Parker, brought home second place.

The members of the Black Team are all in their first year in Envirothon.

The Stephens County High School Envirothon coaches are Derek Demmler, Erin Potterf and Paige Flores.

Both Stephens County High School teams will now earn a spot in the Georgia Envirothon State Competition to be held April 16 in Griffin, Georgia.
