SCHS Splits With Rabun Co. in Home Hoops

The Stephens County Indian boys’ basketball team picks up its third straight win.

Stephens County jumped out to an 11-point first quarter lead and never looked back in beating Rabun County Tuesday night at the Currahee Arena by a 76-66 score.

DeUndra Singleton led the Indians with 23 points.

Also scoring in double figures for Stephens County was Nunu Walker with 12 points and Jackson Bell with 10 points.

Matthew Addis led Rabun County and all scorers with 33 points, including hitting 10 three-point shots.

Bailey Fisher also had 17 points for Rabun County.

The win moves the Indians to 5-2 on the season, while Rabun County falls to 2-4 with the loss.

Moving to the girls’ game, Stephens County came up just a few points short, falling to the Rabun County Lady Wildcats, 39-33.

Kentasia Trimier led the Lady Indians with 12 points and Mya Cleveland added 11 points.

Savanna Scott scored 11 points to lead the Rabun County girls and Delany Edwards chipped in nine points.

The loss drops the Lady Indians to 2-5 on the year, while the Rabun girls are now 4-3 after the win.

Stephens County will be off until Saturday as Friday’s home game with Chestatee was cancelled.

On Saturday, the Indians and Lady Indians will make a road trip to Franklin County.

Tip-off for the girls’ game is 6 p.m. with the boys’ game to follow.
