SCHS Splits Hoops Games At Rabun Co.

The Stephens County Indian boys pick up their sixth straight win.

Friday night in Tiger, the Indians pulled away in the second half and led by as much as 20 points on the way to a 63-48 win over the Rabun County Wildcats.

Rabun County cut the Indians’ lead to six points early in the third quarter, but a 9-0 run by Stephens County extended the lead to 15 and the Wildcats did not get within 10 points for the rest of the game.

Stephens County put four players in double figures, led by Tay Jones’ 14 points. A.J. Curry scored 13 points, Nunu Walker added 11 points, and Micah Oglesby chipped in 10 points.

Bailey Fisher scored 13 points to lead Rabun County, while Matthew Addis added 10.

The Indian boys are now 8-2 on the year and Rabun’s boys fall to 3-7.

Moving to the girls’ game, Rabun County’s Lady Cats beat the Lady Indians of Stephens County by a 46-29 score.

Savanna Scott scored 17 points to lead Rabun County, while Delaney Edwards added 12.

Mya Cleveland led the Lady Indians with 10 points and Tykia Thompson scored six points.

The Lady Indians are now 3-7 on the year, while the Lady Cats are 7-3.

Stephens County’s basketball teams are back in action tonight at Habersham Central.

Tip-off for the girls’ game is 6 p.m. with the boys’ game to follow.
