SCHS Softball Wins Sixth Straight

Stephens County High School softball continues its winning ways in Region 8-AAAA.

On Thursday, the Lady Indians won a tough region game on the road at Oconee County, 2-0.

Once again, the Lady Indians were led by Emma Whitfield’s pitching as she scattered just four hits over a complete game, striking out seven.

At the plate, Alana Dunson went 3 for 3 with two singles, a double, and a run scored, while Raina Mayfield had a single and both Lady Indian RBIs.

The win pushes Stephens County’s record to 12-1 overall on the year and 5-1 in region play.

Next up for the Lady Indians is a region game at Madison County next Tuesday. Madison County is the only team to beat the Lady Indians this season, winning 6-4 in Toccoa back on August 23.
