SCHS Softball Wins Region Opener

Stephens County High School softball opens Region 8-AAAA play with a win.

Thursday, the Lady Indians got the region schedule off to a good start by defeating Oconee County’s Lady Warriors 4-2 at the Reservation in Toccoa.

Kayley Sellers and Emma Whitfield led the Lady Indians at the plate as each of them went 2 for 3 with an RBI.

Natalie Morgan added a single and an RBI also.

Meanwhile, Whitfield got another complete game win on the mound for the Lady Indians, allowing two runs and nine hits while striking out two.

With the win, the Lady Indians move to 6-0 overall on the season and 1-0 in region play.

Next up for the Lady Indians is a road game at Rabun County on Monday.

Then, the Lady Indians return home Tuesday to face region foe Madison County.
