The Stephens County Lady Indian softball team is into the region tournament.
Stephens County came from behind and beat Monroe Area to clinch Thursday evening 9-8.
Monroe Area jumped out to a 6-0 lead early.
However, the Lady Indians scored six unanswered runs in the fifth inning with the help of a Lexie Cash three-run homerun.
The Lady Indians then went ahead 8-6, before Monroe Area tied the game in the top of the 7th inning.
Stephens County won in the bottom of the eighth when Lexie Cash singled with the bases loaded to bring in the winning run.
Taylor Weaver was the winning pitcher and had one hit for the Lady Indians.
Carlan Howard, Brynn Roberts, Kelsey Westmoreland, and Cassady Fulbright each had two hits for the Lady Indians.
Stephens County will travel to Lumpkin County on October 1 to play a best 2-out-of-3 series.
