SCHS Soccer Teams Fall in State Tourney

The seasons are over for the Stephens County High School soccer teams.

On Tuesday, the Lady Indians lost to Region 5-AAAA champion Columbus by a score of 5-0. Columbus moves on to face Grady in the second round. Chestatee and Johnson also lost in the first round of the state girls’ soccer tournament, representing Region 8-AAAA, while Lanier won.

On Wednesday, the Indian boys lost to Region 5-AAAA champion Carrollton 7-0 in the first round of the state playoffs. Carrollton will face Southeast Whitfield in the second round. In other boys’ soccer state tourney first-round action involving Region 8-AAAA, Chestatee and Johnson won, while Lanier lost.
