SCHS Soccer “Pink Game” Tonight for Cancer Awareness

The Stephens County High School soccer teams are looking to help kick cancer with a special event tonight.

Both the Lady Indian and the Indian soccer teams will wear pink jerseys during their games at the Reservation tonight against Region 8-AAAA opponent White County.

It is the annual “Pink Game” to promote cancer awareness.

Admission is $5 and Stephens County High School Indian Soccer Coach Derek Demmler said that $1 of each ticket purchased will go to benefit Stephens County Relay for Life.

“We are trying to do our part to help out,” said Demmler.  “With everything going on in the community.  Times are tough for a lot of people but cancer does not take that into consideration, so anything we can do to help out is something we wanted to do.  Coach Preston and I got together and decided we could put the $1 donation in and hopefully the community will come out and support the soccer program and help Relay for Life as well.”

The Lady Indians will take the field at 5:30 p.m. today at the Reservation.

The Indian boys will follow that at 7:30 p.m.
