SCHS Principal Moving Back to Central Office Next Year

Stephens County High School will have a new principal in the coming year.

On Friday, Stephens County School Superintendent Bryan Dorsey confirmed that current High School Principal Sandy Steele would be transitioning to a new administrative position next year.

According to Dorsey, that position will be within the school system’s Central Office as a director.

Dorsey said the director position will deal with topics like secondary curriculum and tribunals, along with a host of other responsibilities.

Steele took over as the principal at Stephens County High School in 2013.

Prior to taking over as the Principal at Stephens County High School, Steele served as the school system’s Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning from July 2009 to July 2013, handling curriculum for pre-kindergarten all the way up through the high school level.

Steele has worked for the Stephens County School System since 2005, having also served as an assistant principal at Stephens County High School.

The job posting on the school system website says that applications for the job of Stephens County High School Principal are being accepted through April 15.
