SCHS Basketball Wraps Up Play in Christmas Tournament

The Stephens County Indian boys won the Commerce Christmas Classic this week.

Stephens County defeated Dawson County, 80-62, in the first game.  Chaz Bridges scored 25 points, Nunu Walker scored 20 points, and De’Undra Singleton added 18 points.

Then in the second game, Stephens County defeated Madison County, 74-44.  Against Madison County, Singleton scored 15 points, Ty Nails had 14 points, Montavious Thornton scored 13 points, and Walker scored 12.

In the final game, Stephens County beat Johns Creek, 76-69.  Walker had 22 points, Bridges and Singleton scored 16 points, and Thornton scored 10 points.

Walker was named Tournament MVP and Bridges was named to the All-Tournament team.

For the season, the Indian boys are now 10-3.

On the girls’ side, the Lady Indians picked up their first win of the year on Thursday, beating Lithonia, 56-35.

The Lady Indians had dropped their first two games in the tournament.

First, they fell to Dawson County, 45-34.

In the second game, they lost to Heritage (Conyers), 40-38.

The Lady Indians are now 1-13 on the season.

Both teams are back in action Tuesday at home against Rabun County.
