Stephens County Commissioners will re-visit the issue of who to appoint to five-year terms on the county’s Development Authority.
Commissioners voted to table the matter on Tuesday.
The commission must appoint two board members to the Development Authority to fill seats currently held by Tim Ash and Barry Roberts.
Three names were put forth at Tuesday’s meeting. They are Georgia Power Local Manager Nick Martin, Outgoing Chamber Board Chair and North Georgia Credit Union CEO Brian Akin, and local engineer Buddy Lawson.
However, Stephens County Commissioner Dennis Bell said he has other people he would still like to talk to about serving on the board.
“I talked with a few other people in the county that are also interested in this position,” said Bell. “There are a few other folks I want to talk to and get some facts on before we appoint someone to this very important position.”
The vote to table the appointments until the Stephens County Commission’s next meeting on June 24 was unanimous.
