SC Board of Education Work Session Update

At Thursday night’s Stephens County Board of Education work session board members were presented with a resolution requesting the Georgia Department of Education’s assistance in developing a new five-year local facilities plan. Stephens County School Superintendent Bryan Dorsey explained to board members the importance of the resolution. “This is so we can involve them in our plan.” Said Dorsey “As you know ELOST is coming up and we want to make sure we have a good plan.”

The board also heard an update from the Building and Maintenance Department on facility work at Stephens County High School. Weather permitting, the re-roofing of the vocational building at the high school could be completed in the next 8 to 10 days, and demolition of the old part of the high school should be completed by the end of this week.
