Rep. Collins Holding Military Academy Day

September 4, 2013

9th District U.S. Representative Doug Collins’ office will hold a Military Academy Day this Saturday.

The event is designed for high school students interested in applying to the United States military academies.

According to the Congreessman’s office, Collins will be on hand, along with local military academy graduates to meet with students and discuss the process by which they can be nominated to the United States Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, or the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

Representative Collins’ Military Academy Day will take place Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega.

Collins said in the event announcement that he considers it one of the greatest privileges he has as a member of Congress to help some of north Georgia’s brightest young people begin their service to the county through a nomination to one of the nation’s military training institutions.

For more information on this event or the military academy nominating process in general, constituents can call Rep. Collins’ Gainesville district office at 770-297-3388.
