Region 8-AAAA has pushed back continuation of its basketball tournament until Saturday.
After first scheduling games for today, the region has now announced that the tournament will resume Saturday at Lanier High School.
Saturday, Lanier will host all four boys’ quarterfinal games beginning at 1 p.m.
The Stephens County Indian boys are scheduled to play Johnson in a quarterfinal game.
That game is scheduled for 4 p.m. Air time on AM 630 WNEG and wnegradio.com would be 3:45 p.m.
The semi-finals for both the girls’ and boys’ teams will take place at Lanier on Monday beginning at 4 p.m.
The finals and third place games will then be Tuesday at Lanier starting at 4 p.m.
The Stephens County Lady Indians will be playing in Monday’s semi-finals after winning a quarterfinal game earlier this week to also clinch a spot in the state tournament.
The Georgia High School Association has pushed back the start of the state basketball tournaments in order to allow regions to finish their tournaments that were delayed due to the winter storm this week.
