The “Back to School Bash” is not the only event taking place tonight at Stephens County High School.
The annual “Red Rage” pep rally is also set for this evening.
Stephens County High School Varsity and JV Football Cheerleading Coach Susan Carman said “Red Rage” will begin at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the high school football stadium.
“The band will be performing,” said Carman. “Both the competition and the varsity and JV football cheerleaders will be cheering. We will have the JROTC here. We will be honoring some of those students that are in other fall sports, auxiliary, and band. Then, we will introduce the football team and just get everybody ready for a great football season.”
“Red Rage” is earlier than normal.
Carman said that the school system felt it would work well to combine “Red Rage” with the “Back to School Bash.”
“It gets everyone here to the school for the ‘Back to School Bash’ and it just gets everyone excited, not just about football season, but starting back to school,” said Carman.
Meanwhile, Carman said the cheerleading team has had a busy summer getting ready for this coming football season.
“They worked out and practiced during the summer,” said Carman. “We attended the cheerleading camp at the University of Georgia and our girls did very, very well.”
She said the team earned a special award for support of cheerleading.
“Our varsity cheerleaders were the top squad in their performance area,” said Carman.
Again, the “Red Rage” pep rally is tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Stephens County High School football stadium.
