Rain Continues to Fall in Stephens Co.

The chance of more showers remains today after more than a day of steady, sometimes heavy rain.

So far, downtown Toccoa has received well over three inches of rain from this rain event, which began on Sunday.

The rain could continue to help the dry conditions in the area.

According to last week’s release of the U.S. Drought Monitor, most of Stephens County remains in the abnormally dry category, with moderate drought conditions beginning around the Stephens/Franklin County line.

The worst drought conditions are located in the central part of the state, where 17 percent of Georgia remains in exceptional drought.
