Prescribed Fire in White Co. Could Cause Smoke in Area

The U.S. Forest Service said a prescribed fire today in northeast Georgia could spread smoke to this area.

A prescribed fire will be conducted today in White County.

The fire may present smoke to residents of Stephens, Habersham, Hall, Rabun,Union and White counties.

Forest service officials said the prescribed burn is being conducted by trained practitioners to reduce hazardous forest fire fuels and improve wildlife habitat.

The burn should be complete by 5:00 p.m.
