Some area residents take the opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving a little early.
The annual Sandra Wheeler Harbin Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner and Wendell Jackson Sherman Memorial Gospel Concert took place Sunday at the Toccoa-Stephens County Boys and Girls Club on Whitman Street in Toccoa.
Randolph Sherman is an organizer of the event.
He said it was a great day.
“The dinner really went well,” said Sherman. “I guess we probably did over 1000 dinners. It has been a blessing. I would like to thank all of the supporters who have supported this dinner this year and in years past. I really appreciate them.”
The dinner, which is for seniors age 55 and older, started the afternoon off, with the concert taking place later in the afternoon.
