Prayer Vigil Tonight in Downtown Toccoa

A prayer vigil first called for earlier this month by Stephens County Commission Chairman Dennis Bell will take place tonight in downtown Toccoa.

Bell called for the event at the July 12 Stephens County Commission meeting in light of recent events across America.

At the time, he said people need to come together and pray for the nation’s leaders and its citizens.

He said he encourages anyone who wishes to come to attend tonight.

“We have several pastors throughout our community that are going to come together and do a lot of praying,” said Bell. “I am not sure how long it is going to last but if lasts all night, I will be fine with that because our country and our community has got to come together and unite as one.”

The prayer vigil will take place at 7 p.m. on Sage Street in downtown Toccoa between the historic courthouse and the antique market.
