Polls Ran Well, Said Registrar

May 21, 2014

Stephens County Registrar Theresa Kelley said there were no problems at the polls during Tuesday’s primary election.

She said things went very well at the Senior Center on Tuesday.

“Things went really smooth,” said Kelley. “We had no problems out there. We were a little bit busy. We had some standing in line for just a few minutes, but not more than 2 or 3 minutes.”

Kelley said she continues to be pleased with the county’s switch to one single voting precinct on Election Day at the Senior Center.

She also said she appreciates her poll workers and says they did a great job on Tuesday.

A total of 2,734 voters cast ballots on Tuesday in Stephens County.

That translates into a turnout in Stephens County of 21.48 percent of registered voters.
