A Toccoa woman faces a charge from authorities after a reported theft at a local store.
According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, deputies with his office responded to Fred’s on Big A Road late Saturday afternoon in reference to a theft report.
The victim says as she exited the store, she left her purse in the buggy and it was stolen.
Shirley says that deputies viewed the video footage from the store and identified a suspect.
The sheriff identifies that suspect as 30-year-old Fellica Nicole Davis of Toccoa.
He says Davis was arrested and charged with theft of lost or mislaid property and deputies recovered all of the property.
Elsewhere, the Toccoa Police Department says it made nine arrests during a series of safety checks and concentrated patrols last Friday.
According to the police department, it also issued nine traffic citations and arrested three people for outstanding warrants during what it dubbed “Operation Spring Break.”
Police say that officers from the department’s patrol division, criminal investigations division, SORT Team, and K-9 unit participated.
The department says it plans to conduct similar operations in the future.
