Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley said that a shooting incident that occurred last week in the Shorewood area of StephensCounty has been ruled as an accidental shooting.

It occurred last Monday, November 25.

Shirley said a woman suffered a single gunshot wound to the abdomen and was lifeflighted to Anderson Medical Center.

At last report, she was recovering from her injuries.

The sheriff said no charges are being filed in the incident.

Elsewhere, the Toccoa Police Department responded to a Big A Road location on November 29 in reference to a burglary report.

The report stated that the lock had been taken out of the door and about $100 had been taken from the register during the early morning hours of November 29.

Finally, Toccoa Police also responded to an Elberton Street location on December 1 about a reported burglary.

In the report, two people stated that sometime between the evening of November 27 and the afternoon of December 1, their vacant property was broken into.

The report stated that two pitching machines, two electric motors, and the pitching arms were taken.

The investigations into these burglaries continue.
