The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a vehicle reported stolen was found missing many of its parts.

According to a report on file, the Sheriff’s Office responded to the Wildlife Management Area in the area of Bend ‘n Hickory in reference to a stolen vehicle recovery.

The victim said that he had located his vehicle in that area, but it was stripped for parts and no longer drivable.

The report indicated that over $2,500 worth of damage was done.

Meanwhile, the Sheriff’s Office also responded to Brookdale Extension on August 5 in reference to a reported theft.

The report stated that $390 worth of personal items were stolen from a property.  The report does not list what specifically was stolen.

In addition, a theft was also reported from a local scrap metal yard recently.

The report with the Sheriff’s Office stated that $600 worth of items were taken between 6 p.m. on August 5 and 8 a.m. on August 6.  The report does not list what specifically was taken.

Finally, a Pinetree Road resident told the Sheriff’s Office on August 3 that $220 worth of unspecified items were taken from a residence that day.

All of the incidents remain under investigation.
