The Toccoa Police Department is announcing a number of drug arrests.
According to a report on file, an officer was on patrol back on July 24 when he viewed a vehicle with no tag lights and stopped it at the intersection of Broad and Whitman streets.
The report states that Justin Z. McDonald of Brady Street in Toccoa and Mariah Jordan Burdette of Canon were both arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
Meanwhile, late in the evening of July 22, an officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Doyle and Mitchell streets after seeing that the vehicle had no tag light and was making several abrupt turns.
Upon stopping the vehicle, police arrested Alexander LaFarrell Richie of Creek Court in Toccoa, Dontavian Greg Brown of Forest Avenue in Toccoa, and Greg Colbert Rousey of Fair Street in Toccoa for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Richie was also charged with driving on a suspended registration.
Elsewhere, an officer with the Toccoa Police Department was on patrol on Franklin Street on August 2 and conducted a traffic stop.
That led to the arrest of Anthony Brian Crowe of Demorest for Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Distribute, as well as the arrest of Douglas Wayne Addison of Tugaloo Station Lane in Toccoa for Possession of Methamphetamine.
Finally, the Toccoa Police Department is investigating two reported bike thefts.
According to reports on file, the first one occurred overnight August 1 into August 2 when a black and red mountain bike was stolen from a home on Edwards Street.
The second one reportedly occurred overnight August 3 into August 4, when a silver and white bicycle was stolen from a Morgan Place residence.
