Two people face charges after an alleged fight on Jordan Road last weekend.
According to a report from the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to Jordan Road on June 30 just before noon in regards to a fight in progress.
Deputies said that after investigating, they arrested 40-year-old Bryan Joseph Hicks of Eastanollee and 27-year-old Jonathan Alton Purcell of Toccoa.
The two men were charged with Fighting, Battery, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Schedule Two drugs, and Cruelty to Children.
Elsewhere, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Prather Bridge Road business on June 28 in reference to a burglary.
The business stated that someone broke in and stole $500 in cash.
Meanwhile, the Sheriff’s Office responded to North Red Hollow Road in Martin on June 26 in reference to a burglary.
According to the report on file, someone allegedly forced their way into the residence and stole a number of items, including electronics. In all, the total value of the missing items is estimated at $370 in the report.
In addition, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a theft on Hemphill Street on June 30.
The woman told deputies that someone had taken some tin off of the house and plywood from the door of the house, which she says she has started tearing down.
Finally, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Highway 105 on June 24 in reference to the reported theft of a vehicle.
The owner said that the vehicle was taken from his front yard between June 22 and June 24. The report identifies the vehicle as a 1979 Ford pick-up and it is valued at an estimated $3,000.
The investigations into all of the incidents continue.
