The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported theft from a home on Currahee Lane.

According to the report on file, the man reported on Sunday that while he was away at work between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., someone took his lawn mower and tractor from his yard. The total value of the items taken is estimated as $23,000 in the report.

Meanwhile, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office also responded to Lakeside Trail in Martin on Sunday in reference to a reported theft there.

The man filed a report with authorities, telling a deputy that someone had broken into his lake home and stolen several items.

The report does not list specifically what was taken, but estimates the value of the items as just over $17,000. According to the report, the incident is believed to have occurred sometime since late last July.

The investigation into that incident also continues.
