Police Arrest Eight for Drugs at Toccoa Home

Eight people face drug charges after police show up at a Toccoa home early one morning last week.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Tim Jarrell, officers were called to a home on Sunset Lane in Toccoa at about 5 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10.

Jarrell said that officers were called to the home to respond to what was classified initially as an unknown disturbance.

“One of the individuals who was present became extremely paranoid after ingesting a narcotic and had overheard what they believed the other individuals present were going to do to them,” said Jarrell. “That is when they called 911.”

Jarrell said that when they got inside the home, officers found drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Seven adults and a 15-year-old juvenile were all arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.

The adults are identified as 18-year-old Jeremy Kilcrease of South Pond Street in Toccoa, 19-year-old Ellen Smith of Scott Drive in Toccoa, 22-year-old Nicholas Ludwig of Diamond Drive in Clarkesville, 20-year-old Austin Alexander of Gumlog Road in Martin, 23-year-old Matthew Figge of Sunset Lane in Toccoa, 26-year-old Adam Griffin of Sunset Lane in Toccoa, and 23-year-old Kara Ressler of Sunset Lane in Toccoa.

The seven adults were also all charged with Possession of Drug Equipment or Possession of Drug-Related Equipment.

In addition, Figge, Griffin, and Ressler were also all charged with Possession of Marijuana and Kilcrease, Griffin, and Ressler were also all charged with Cruelty to Children in the First Degree.

Jarrell said there was a 3-year-old in the home when police arrived.

The chief said that child was turned over to other family members under a protection order.
