A Toccoa woman faces drug charges after a traffic stop earlier this month.
Toccoa Police Chief Tim Jarrell says that on May 12, the Mountain Judicial Circuit N.C.I.S. Drug Team, working with Toccoa Police and the Georgia State Patrol, acted on information received regarding someone traveling to the Atlanta area to purchase illegal narcotics for distribution in Toccoa.
Jarrell says with that information, agents and officers set up a perimeter that covered entry points to the Toccoa area.
At about 9 p.m. on May 12, Jarrell says authorities observed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle traveling down Colonial Drive and turning onto Pageland Drive.
Jarrell says an officer performed a traffic stop on the vehicle and then drug team agents found about 16 grams of methamphetamine and four grams of marijuana in the vehicle.
The chief says they arrested 40-year-old Misty Dawn Caudell of Toccoa and charged her with one count of Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Distribute and one count of Possession of Marijuana Less than One Ounce.
