Pinkerton named School Board Chairman

Tuesday night’s Stephens County Board of Education’s meeting included officially voting in a Chairman and Vice-Chairman. Dr. Elizabeth Pinkerton is now officially Chairman, a role she has served since July 1st. “I’ve been the interim chair for about a month now since Jerry left” says Pinkerton,”I’m ready for our school system to progress with the goals, standards, and procedures we have in place and I’m really looking forward to see how everyone does this year.”

Pinkerton takes over the chairman role formerly held by Jerry Steele who resigned from the board at the end of June when son Sandy was officially announced as the new principal at Stephens County High School. Pinkerton says the Stephens County School System has great leadership. “Sherrie is doing an excellent job as the leader of our program. We are very pleased to have her, and with Phyllis and Jason working together-I think we have a really good program ahead of us.”

Tony Crunkleton was voted in as Vice-Chairman.
