Perdue Makes Service Academy Appointment

A Habersham County student receives a service academy appointment.

Earlier this month, U.S. Senator David Perdue announced the appointments of 19 Georgia students nominated by his office to the United States Service Academies.

One of those is John Gallagher of Clarkesville, who was appointed by Senator Perdue to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

Senator Perdue said that Georgia has a strong military community and added the strength of the future is in those students who choose to pursue this great honor.

Perdue said he is proud to have nominated these young leaders for admission to the United States Service Academies, and he looks forward to seeing these fine students excel and lead at the highest level.
